We begin the design phase with an initial consultation with you. We discuss your needs, your personal style, and perform a site review. We present our preliminary design sketches to you, along with images of plant and hardscape options. HDI feels strongly that all plants and materials be appropriate for each project and are sustainable in the site environment. Upon your feedback and refinement, we develop the final design. Our fee for design is based on the size and scope of the project.
Once the design is finalized, we generate a budget and specifications sheet, along with a timeline for implementing the design. If you choose, we can work with you to phase the installation. We administer bids and create a construction schedule. HDI has a preferred list of outside subcontractors that we have developed over the years, but we are also open to working with a subcontractor that our client has a relationship with. We select all plant material and are on-site as needed to ensure both the structural and design integrity of the finished project.
Gardens need tending, even low maintenance ones! We offer a landscape maintenance service to keep your new investment healthy and attractive. This includes light pruning, weeding, nipping and tucking perennials. HDI doesn’t cut grass, but can recommend lawn care services.
We create seasonal planters for your home. If you are part of the bed maintenance program, these will be refreshed as needed during the growing season.
Sometimes a home gardener just wants some expert advice on design or plant material, or a little reassurance that they are on the right track. HDI offers hourly consultation.
We can oversee your landscape by coordinating maintenance contractors on an ongoing basis and recommending and implementing capital improvements and redesign of garden areas. This gives you peace of mind that you aren’t overlooking anything and comfort that you’re getting the best services for a fair price. Your landscape should be a pleasure, not a burden!
